Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother Goes On The Road Rarity

Posted : admin On 28.10.2019

Notes: A massive rarity, highly sought after and a cornerstone of any Pink Floyd bootleg collection. This lp was pressed in by TMOQ in the U.S. And then exported to England for packaging and distribution by Freddy Stomper 'The Marked Hand.'

Atom Heart Mother Goes On The Road

The cover is rubber stamped and comes with a small pink insert that happily declares that the record is a bootleg and therefore no royalties will be paid to Pink Floyd or its management. The insert is dated 1972, which if accurate means that this double lp was pressed not long after, from which it was copied. The insert also lists the name of the album as 'Embryo,' which suggests that the 'Embrwo' rubber stamp was the result of a typo. The matrix on side 3 is notable in that the 'C' in 'RECOrd' has been corrected from an 'O' and the last two letters are not capitalized (as they are on the other three sides). This album is so incredibly rare that Kraska incorrectly listed it as a 'test pressing' of Miracle Muffler and Take Linda Surfing. Some copies have been found with one red disc and one green disc, while other copies have two green discs.

The piece shown here is a particularly unique copy with 'swirled' green vinyl. This LP led to many reissues in the United States on different labels, including Cymbaline (TMOQ), Live (Dittolino), Hamburger (CBM), Live in Germany (CBM), Musichalle (CBM) and, as a pair of single LPs, Miracle Muffler (Wizardo) and Take Linda Surfin' (Wizardo).

IT'S UNKNOWN HOW MANY WERE RELEASED THIS WAY BUT THEY ARE THOUGHT TO BE VERY RARE. REISSUED IN THE EARLY NINETIES ON GREEN AND PINK VINYL AS 32 NUMBERED COPIES (SOME OF THESE HAD TWO PINK DISCS).

THE MATRIX NUMBERS ON THE SECOND DISC OF THE REISSUE CHANGED TO ACL 013 1/2. THESE PLATES WERE ALSO USED TO PRESS THE ACL 'ONE OF THESE DAYS' BOOTLEG.

RARITY RATING: (CV) (BLACK VINYL) (TAKRL CARTOON OR DOG HEAD LABELS) YEAR OF RELEASE: 1986 SOURCE: S1-2 PARIS THEATRE LONDON ENGLAND S3-4 PARIS THEATRE LONDON ENGLAND NOTES FROM THE MAKER: 'I had a look at my own copy (no 1 of 1000) and side A/B is pink and side C/D is purple. I seem to remember that side C/D was a mix of pink and purple copies when I got them from the factory. So it was not planned, I just put the copies at hand into the sleeves. So, first 300 was on CV with a booklet and last 700 of the 1000 on black vinyl. Regarding some copies existing with a TAKRL 'He he' label. I think I actually got all 1000 with this label and then I had the green ACL label made here in Norway and I glued them on. I probably got a bit fed up and just included the ACL label in some copies to be glued on by the buyer.

Finally,I made a VERY limited repress of 32 Green & Pink 'see-through-vinyl' in the early 90's as I had 32 sleeves left over.' Commenting Rules Thank you for sharing your views with Floydboots.
